Yvonne @quiltingjetgirl is hosting this link-up to give us all a chance to check in on our goals and progress for the first quarter of the year.
My goals for the year are:
Continue to build quilting friendships
Grow my blog and Instagram
Finish one quilt per month (small quilts count!)
So far I have completed three quilts this year.
I made the “lava lamps” on the right in January for Project Quilting: Season 14: Challenge 1. The small triangles mini-quilt is one I made from an overrun of bigger HST’s. The Love & Stitches quilt designed by Megan Collins was made to welcome a new baby. So far so good on the goals!
What’s not so good is that I’ve been absent on Instagram and the blog for weeks. However, I’m taking the Pattern Writing Academy 2023 with Alderwood Studio and that’s good. Amber is a great teacher and I am learning a lot! I am so glad that I took this opportunity even though I have to step back from other goals.
Allie McCathren @exhaustedoctopus is teaching her sea glass quilt online for my guild this month, I look forward to spending a day sewing a new project and learning a new technique.
I think it’s been a good first quarter. There is only so much time and spending it on software and design skills is a good investment.
Thanks, Yvonne for hosting the link party. Thanks to all for reading!
I’ll be back soon! -Catie

It sounds like you are making investments in yourself but doing a good job of balancing out continued creative time. Congratulations on having a finish a month and I hope that you have fun in your upcoming workshops and courses!

The Pattern Writing Academy sounds great. Hope you learn a lot and focussing on that totally makes sense to me. So enjoy and the rest will get its time to shine in one of the next quarters 🙂 xo

Thanks Mel! I appreciate your encouragement. The class focuses on Affinity software, which is a vector based design tool. It’s a lot easier to learn and less expensive than the Adobe software. I feel like so many new possibilities have opened up with these new skills!
