Another finish for 2022!
I made this quilt top almost two years ago, but I just quilted it and shipped it off last month. I really like the neutral gray background and the bright squares. I originally planned to straight-line quilt it, but my straight lines turned out to be pretty crooked. After I ripped out the first attempt, I decided to go with a freehand double-bubble over the entire top. I like the bubbles! It’s a fun, whimsical design that’s very forgiving. 😉
This quilt has a simple design and modern vibe that I like for a baby quilt. It’s not too cutesy or gender-specific. The yellow binding gives it a pop of color that defines the edge. I need to keep working on my quilting skills to improve my accuracy and spacing.
Thanks for reading! My next project will be shirts for the warmer weather. I have a length of dark blue linen and I just purchased a black & white crinkle cotton from Closet Core Fabrics that I am pretty excited about. I think both pieces will become Kalle Shirts.
