Voila, my newest quilt top, the Love and Stitches quilt designed by Megan Collins. I liked this quilt as soon as I saw it, but it took several months before I decided to make it. I started it for a new baby that’s coming soon. The parents decided not to find out if they’re expecting a girl or a boy, so I wanted to make a quilt that’s gender-neutral.
I really like the large-scale hearts, but I think a small quilt like this would look better with a smaller motif. The late afternoon light in this photo makes the colors look darker than they really are, especially the background. It’s much lighter in reality. I will quilt this top in the next few days, and that will help me decide if I love it or if I want to try something else.
I hate it when I get to this point in a project, and doubts creep in. Let me know in the comments if you think it’s a keeper or not! Thanks, I look forward to your opinions!

I don’t mind the scale of the hearts but would have put some sashing in between so that they can breathe a bit more. But it still looks lovely. though it will be fun to see a more real life color picture when you quilt(ed) it. xo

I think you’re right. A little more spacing would help. I also think that using a lighter backgroud fabric would have been a better choice. Thanks for you comment! I’m optimistic that once it’s finished it will please me more. Fingers crossed!
